Civility is great. It’s useful and kind in several situations.

It’s just the wrong tool to deal with douchebags and racists. Mockery and clear distaste are the wages of both.


In other words, I refuse to be civil to douchebags or bigots. It’s false politeness; it helps them do harm. Clear, unambiguous disgust is all they’re going to get from me.
