I am neutral on the Predator franchise as a whole but this? This is one helluva movie.

I’m sorry, I just laughed like a hyena. I like the callbacks to the original movie—and I like the Adrian Brody one—but this just goes twenty times harder and fifty better than either.

So, that was PREY. The movie FLEW by, my goodness. Structurally super solid, thematically on-point, wonderfully acted, and the dog lives.

I’m going to have to watch this one a few times and take notes. Just wonderful.

It’s not often that a book or movie pulls me in so completely I stop looking “under the hood” at the structure and underpinnings. This one managed it, which is a huge and welcome surprise.
