I carry peanuts in my pockets for the crows at my local train station parking lot.

It would be weird if there were creatures much taller than us, living mysterious lives, but if you can get their attention, they'll toss you a bunch of bananas or something. Why not? Free bananas.

A lot of human hierarchical behavior would be weird if we were the ones lower on the power chain.

They've got bananas now? Every time I was down by the abyss and called out at them, I couldn't even tell if they noticed I was there, what with them being shadows and all. And the abyss.

There's not a single thing about that experience that's without ambiguity and confusion.

@signalstation well, yeah, you have to act confident and face them or they don't notice you're there
you have to be composed and kinda imposing, but without being agressive
then you get all kinds of fruits and seeds and sometimes those pieces of strange purple flesh that pulsates with unknowable energies

Please don't carry loose peanuts in public places.

People with nut allergies can have very serious reactions if they touch anything that has nut dust on it. Even if you think your hands are clean, it can give someone a hospitalizing reaction.

@signalstation I also feed crows. One perches on top of my building and I leave scattered seeds and bread crumbs in highly visible ways for them. It’s a nice way to connect with the nature around me even though there’s asphalt and concrete and loud trucks. The crows and ravens appreciate my attempt at friendship.
